Are you an organized, proactive professional looking to make an impact in a mission-driven organization? SHELTER, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Executive Assistant to support our Chief Executive Officer and Senior Leadership Team in their efforts to prevent and end homelessness.
About Us: SHELTER, Inc. is a community-based nonprofit serving Contra Costa, Solano, and Sacramento counties since 1986. Our mission is to provide housing services, resources, and support to low-income and disadvantaged individuals and families, empowering them to achieve self-sufficiency.
Position Overview
The Executive Assistant ensures the CEO’s time is optimized for strategic priorities, provides administrative and organizational support, and serves as a trusted partner in managing sensitive matters.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide comprehensive administrative support to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, and Board of Directors.
· Manage the CEO's calendar, prioritize appointments, and anticipate scheduling conflicts.
· Draft, review, and edit correspondence, presentations, and reports.
· Coordinate Board and Senior Leadership meetings, including preparation of agendas, meeting materials, and minutes.
· Act as a liaison between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders, handling communications with discretion.
· Organize travel arrangements, expense reports, and meeting logistics.
· Maintain organized filing systems for digital and physical records.
· Support special projects, event planning, and internal initiatives as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
· 5 years of administrative experience, including 2 years supporting executive management.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
· Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
· Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
· Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
· 10 years of administrative experience, with 5 years as an Executive Assistant.
· Experience in a nonprofit environment.
· Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Qualifications
