Summary
As a Produce Clerk you will be an essential part of our team, responsible for ensuring the freshness and quality of our produce section. This role is vital in delivering exceptional service to our customers and supporting the overall mission of our grocery store.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect produce deliveries to ensure quality and freshness.
- Stock shelves and display cases with fresh produce, maintaining attractive presentations.
- Assist customers with inquiries about produce selection and provide recommendations.
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of the produce section to uphold hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory levels, including tracking stock and placing orders as needed.
- Utilize pallet jacks for moving heavy items safely within the store.
- Package produce for sale, ensuring proper labeling and pricing.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and improve service delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a grocery or retail environment, preferably in produce.
- Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently as required by the role.
- Strong inventory management skills to maintain stock levels accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- multilingual abilities are a plus for customer engagement.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures for food safety compliance is beneficial.
- Familiarity with using pallet jacks or similar equipment is preferred.
