Duties:
- Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Support individuals in participating in community activities and social interactions
- Drive individuals to appointments, outings, and community events
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as needed
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality
- First aid and CPR certification preferred
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
This position requires physical stamina, as it may involve heavy lifting and assisting individuals with mobility. The ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals with developmental disabilities is essential. A background in behavior management or experience working in a similar role is highly desirable.
