Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our inpatient team. The Speech Language Pathologist conducts clinical speech language pathology services including comprehensive patient assessment and intervention relating to various diagnoses for ages 12 . The therapist will accurately assess and treat language, speech, voice, cognition, and swallowing impairments resulting from various diagnoses. Instructs therapy support staff, students, other team members, and patient and/or caregivers.

Qualifications And Skills

• Previous clinical experience with planning and executing evaluation/treatment of neurogenic, motor speech, linguistic/cognitive communication disorders and swallowing disorders required.
• Previous experience performing swallow studies including Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and/or Fiber-optic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES) preferred.
• Previous experience with trach management as related to swallowing and communication disorders preferred.

• Clinical rotations during graduate training in medical setting.
  
  

Education/Certifications

• Master’s Degree from an ASHA-accredited program in Speech and Language Pathology required.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) - SLP or Clinical Fellow (CF) eligible required.
• Current or provisional (if CF) license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a SLP required.
• Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.
