Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Specialty Rehab Tech to join the team. This position is available to a candidate who is looking for a rewarding and fast-paced position with the ability to gain experience in specific rehabilitation skills related to client seating, positioning, complex equipment, and assistive technology. This is an excellent growth opportunity for candidate looking into therapy or assistive technology schooling.

Responsibilities

• Conduct effective and timely communication and/or teaching to internal and external stakeholders including clinical team members, patient support system, and equipment vendors. Communication will be via various methods including face-to-face, via phone, and e-mail.
• Direct patient-care experience including teaching patients effective wheelchair skills and wheelchair maintenance.
• Desire to perform technical skills such as using tools to remove/replace/adjust wheelchair components to improve patient outcomes.
• Desire a self-starter and problem-solver who is eager to improve processes as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in inpatient rehabilitation with specific populations.

Education/Certifications

• High School diploma/GED required.
• High School or college degree with interest in further education related to healthcare.
• Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.
