What are the responsibilities and job description for the SNPA Seasonal Full Time Sales Clerk position at Shenandoah National Park Association?
Seasonal full-time. (Full time March through November.)
Position is a Lead Salesclerk operating retail sales at the Byrd Visitor Center Park Store in Shenandoah National Park for the Shenandoah National Park Association (Official Non-Profit of the Park).
Daily duties include handling sales of products to customers; safeguard change fund and daily receipts; total cash register at end of the day; receive weekly deliveries of stock and verify numbers; keep sales displays stocked; assist with opening/closing procedures of the building. This is a lead position where oversee the retail area and back stock room. You must have leadership and management skills. Lead salesclerk will be responsible to work with other employees to ensure the store is in top condition. Applicant must have a strong initiative and self-motivation. Basic knowledge of product merchandising is a benefit. Lifting up to 40 lbs. is a requirement.
Experience of a point-of-sale cash register is preferred. Familiar with general park information. Must provide own transportation. Must enjoy working with the public. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Position would start in March of 2025. Uniform Reimbursement. 90-day probation period.
