Activities Director
Location: Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah, PA
Are you a creative, organized, and compassionate professional looking to make a difference in the lives of seniors? Shenandoah Senior Living Community is seeking a dedicated Activities Director for our skilled nursing home facility.
In this role, you will plan, implement, and evaluate activity programs to meet the emotional, recreational, and social needs of our residents on an individual basis.
Shift:
- Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Occasional weekends and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule engaging activities such as movies, parties, games, projects, crafts, and field trips for residents, with schedules prepared at least one month in advance.
- Assess and monitor residents' spiritual, social, recreational, and emotional needs through routine interviews, visits, and consultations with residents and their families.
- Encourage residents to enhance their physical and educational skills through active participation in activities.
- Collaborate with nursing supervisors to ensure residents select activities aligned with physicians' orders.
- Fulfill resident shopping requests and assist with managing the smoking program.
- Coordinate and lead monthly resident council meetings.
- Record resident activity participation and updates in PCC (PointClickCare).
Qualifications:
- Activity Director Certified (ADC) credential from the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP).
- Experience in long-term care preferred or prior work under a Certified Activity Consultant.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
