Shenandoah University’s Childcare Center is accepting applications for part-time benefited Teacher’s Assistant. This is a 27.5-hour position with hours from 12 : 30 -6 : 00 pm Monday through Friday located in Winchester, Virginia.
Purpose / Essential Job Function :
- This staff will help the teacher maintain an organized classroom that is positive, safe, fun and educational for the children.
- Assist teachers and their assistants in all aspects of their classroom and with the children. Assist director and assistant director in operational tasks.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities :
Have effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, great thinking skills, ability to focus on multi-tasks, cope with high stress levels, maintain confidentiality,Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, have physical dexterity, and have the ability to reach arms above head.Must be willing to receive 16 in-service hours, CPR, and First Aid annually, and attend staff meetings.Key Duties and Responsibilities :
Assist the director, assistant director, teachers and assistants in daily activities and classroom needs; work a flexible schedule based on staffing needsComplete book orders, dishes, laundry as neededMaintain confidentiality in all classroomKeep an upbeat attitudeFeed, diaper and interact with all children; take children outside daily; communicate with parents about their child’s dayClean and sanitize toys, cribs, tables and highchairs; stock and maintain diapers, wipes and ointment dailyLearn and implement licensing regulations.Required Experience
Required Education Level and Experience :
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.Shall have previous experience working with young children in a group childcare setting.How to Apply :
