POSITION : POLICE OFFICER

The Shenango Township Police Department (Mercer County) is accepting applications until 4 : 00 pm on February 14th 2025 for the position of Full-Time Police Officer. Applications may be obtained anytime at the Shenango Township Police Department, 3439 Hubbard-West Middlesex Rd., West Middlesex, PA 16159.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a United States citizen
• High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate
• Must have Valid Driver's License
• 21 Years of Age at Time of Appointment
• Must Have Good Morals and Character
• Must have Current Act 120 Certification

EMPLOYMENT INCENTIVES

The Shenango Township Police Department serves two communities (Shenango Township and West Middlesex Borough) and approximately 4,600 residents in a 30 square mile area. The department consists of 11 full-time officers, to include a K-9 Unit and School Resource Officer. Officers respond to approximately 5,500 incidents annually. Shenango Township provides for excellent working conditions, such as purchasing new equipment and tools needed for officers, routinely rotated patrol vehicles, and a newly constructed police station in 2020.

The Shenango Township Police Department participates and partners with the Mercer County Critical Incident Response Team {C.I.R.T.), PA Attorney General's Office Task Force, FBI Task Force, Mercer County Drug Task Force, and the Mercer County DUI Task Force. The Department also receives grant funding for traffic enforcement, such as PA Aggressive Driving and Buckle-Up PA.
