General Statement
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds, an incumbent in this class is responsible for planning and managing the water, electric, natural gas, gasoline and diesel fuel usage in the district. Also under the direction of the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds, the incumbent is responsible for an approved program in the field of health and safety to maintain and improve safe working conditions, and has the leeway for independent judgment in the performance of the work. The incumbent trains department personnel in safety-related topics and energy conservation practices. The District’s Safety Officer implements the incumbent’s programs.

This is an Open Competitive or Promotional Civil Service position for external and internal candidates*.
