Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Church Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the church's administrative functions, ensuring smooth operations, and fostering a welcoming environment for congregants and visitors. This position requires strong computer and organizational skills, proficiency in clerical tasks, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
Responsibilities
- Manage front desk operations, greeting visitors and answering inquiries with professionalism and warmth.
- Maintain and organize church files, records, and documents to ensure easy access and retrieval.
- Utilize Microsoft Office 365 for scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
- Assist in preparing materials for church services, events, and meetings.
- Provide administrative support to church leadership as needed, including typing reports and correspondence.
- Coordinate communication within the church community through newsletters, bulletins, and social media updates.
- Handle clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining inventory of office supplies.
- Support any additional duties as assigned by church leadership.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an administrative or clerical role.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to work with a number of software apps.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is essential.
- Proficient in written and oral communication.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with congregants and visitors.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a dynamic church environment.
- Background Check Required: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
