The Activity Assistant performs duties involving the planning and implementation of activities which meet the needs of our residents.

Responsibilities
- Assists the Activities Director in planning and carrying out a program of activities which meets the needs of the residents and will be made available to all residents.
- Maintains documentation as required by state and federal regulations.
- Assists with activities inside and outside the facility to stimulate and promote resident interest and participation, such as special entertainment, special holiday events, and religious activities.
- Assists in providing social communication among residents through group activities and recreation.
- Encourages residents to participate in activities.
- Works with volunteers in various activity programs.
- Assists in planning and preparing the monthly activity calendar.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Must have a current Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record and proof of insurance. Must meet Driver Certification requirements.
- Must have the ability to demonstrate warmth, compassion and respect for older adults.
- Must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and creativity in planning activities.
- Must be self-motivated, requiring minimum supervision.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification is preferred.
