Overview
We are seeking a skilled General Manager to oversee and manage the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and be proficient in project coordination, ensuring that all MEP systems are designed, installed, and maintained according to industry standards. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure project success. This person will also be heavily involved in driving new business initiatives/opportunities for the MEP team.
Responsibilities
- Setting up process and business flow
- Operations, inventory control, Sales
- Long term vision for business
- Lead the planning and execution of MEP projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on project specifications.
- Utilize construction management software for effective project scheduling and tracking.
- Oversee construction estimating processes to ensure accurate budgeting for MEP systems.
- Manage contracts related to MEP work, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
- Implement project coordination strategies using tools.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and adherence to safety standards.
- Troubleshoot any issues related to MEP installations and provide solutions in a timely manner.
- Prepare detailed reports on project status, including timelines and resource allocation.
Qualifications and Skills / Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Proven track record of managing large-scale MEP projects in the construction industry.
- Proven experience in MEP management within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in relevant construction management software.
- Strong skills in project scheduling and coordination
- Familiarity with construction estimating practices and contract management.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams towards achieving project goals.
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, industry standards, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in project management tools
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
