Shepherd University seeks a Director of Career Services to join our team!
The Director of Career Services develops initiatives that enhance student, employer, and alumni engagement while overseeing services aligned with Shepherd University’s mission. This role ensures support for a diverse campus population and fosters students’ professional and career development. The Director builds relationships with employers, faculty, and staff to support student and alumni success. Responsibilities include meeting with students to plan and implement post-graduation goals, delivering career-related presentations, and coordinating career fairs, informational sessions, and other campus events.
Minimum Qualifications:
A master’s degree and at least two years of experience working with college students in a career or academic advising (or related) capacity.
Equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered as meeting the minimum qualifications, at the direction of the hiring supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Significant college career and/or academic advising experience
Experience teaching or delivering presentations to college-level audiences
Ability to interpret MBTI and the Strong Interest Inventory
Banner and DegreeWorks (or similar program) experience
Proficient in use of social media platforms and website maintenance (Wordpress or similar)
An understanding of the principles of college student development and the policies and structure of a typical, four-year, public university.
Appointment to this position will be contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
