Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to lead our trucking logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in construction trucking operations, technology, and equipment, as well as strong data analysis, budgeting, and financial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee dispatching and trucking activities, including asphalt mix, aggregates, lowboy equipment moves, AC hauling, and construction trucks.
- Manage fleet size, backhauls, and capacity planning to optimize trucking efficiency.
- Coordinate plant scale house support and raw material inventory levels.
- Identify and maintain material dump locations and ensure compliance with all requirements.
Requirements:
- Expertise in construction trucking operations, technology, and equipment.
- Strong data analysis, budgeting, and financial acumen.
- Deep understanding of safety regulations (DOT, OSHA, MSHA, First Aid).
- Knowledge of Chicagoland logistics, unions, traffic patterns, and regional regulations.
- Proficiency in logistics & construction software: Microsoft Office, Teams, Slack, XBE, Motive, Laserfiche, Spectrum, Monday.com.
