What are the responsibilities and job description for the Float Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Towson & Baltimore Washington Campus (Part Time, 20 hours/week) position at Sheppard & Enoch Pratt Hospital?
As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant you will:
- Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provide occupational therapy services to individual or groups of patients as directed by supervisor and within the limitations described in the State Licensure Law.
- Record/report patients' progress to multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Direct all professional/clinical questions and concerns to supervisor or treatment team.
- Communicate with patients based on an understanding of the developmental needs of children and adolescents.
Requires:
- Associate of Arts Degree in occupational therapy.
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in the State of Maryland at the time of appointment and continuously during tenure in position. Maintain professional knowledge and skills through attendance at professional meetings, workshops, courses, and in-service sessions.
- For some programs, position requires valid driver's license and ability to operate a hospital vehicle at time of appointment.
- 3 to 6 months' practice as an OTA in related work. Must have comprehensive knowledge of occupational therapy practice in specific practice area(s), such as prevocational training or specific treatment modality for working with the emotionally disturbed child and adolescent population.
- Positions on inpatient units may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to facilitate programming.

The pay range for this position is $25.24 minimum to $38.98 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
