Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is seeking a Junior Finance Associate with 2-4 years of experience to join our Washington DC office.
Sheppard Mullin is a global Am Law 50 full-service law firm with over 1,100 attorneys across 16 offices worldwide. The Washington DC office currently has approximately 120 attorneys who practice in a variety of areas including, Business Litigation, Corporate Transactions, Finance, Antitrust, Real Estate, Intellectual Property, and more.
The Finance practice of Sheppard Mullin has been a key element of the firm's practice since its founding over 90 years ago. As part of a large, broad-based commercial law firm, our commercial lending and financial transactions team is comprised of attorneys specializing in all facets of highly structured financial transactions. We bring a team of fully engaged advisors with the legal and practical problem-solving skills necessary to execute the most complex of financial transactions.
The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience in commercial finance and asset-backed lending and executing deals in this area with 2-4 years of experience at a law firm with a national reputation. The ability to work with other team members and clients, and take ownership of projects, is essential.
- Excellent project management skills and experience working on leveraged finance transactions (particularly those involving private equity sponsors and mergers and acquisitions).
- Exposure to the negotiation and documentation of commitment letters, credit agreements and related collateral documents and legal opinions.
- While the team primarily focuses on representing business borrowers, candidates with lender side experience are encouraged to apply as well.
- Experience leading transactions is not required for this role, as the Finance team invests in its members through training to help them grow as lawyers.

Salary : $235,000 - $310,000
