Responsibilities
As the Marketing Events Specialist, you will play a key role in strategic planning and execution of high-profile events, ensuring alignment with the firm's objectives and enhancing brand presence. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop Comprehensive Event Strategies: Collaborate with key stakeholders to design event strategies that align with firm objectives and enhance client engagement.
- Lead Event Conceptualization: Innovate and conceptualize themes and formats for events that elevate the firm's presence and offer unique client experiences.
- Project Management
- Oversee Event Budgets: Establish and manage comprehensive budgets for each event, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high standards.
- Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: Lead and coordinate efforts across marketing, IT, and administrative teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Vendor and Venue Management
- Negotiate Contracts: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and venues to secure favorable terms and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Site Inspections: Conduct thorough site inspections to assess suitability and logistics for planned events.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and Maintain Relationships: Foster strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to enhance collaboration and ensure successful outcomes.
- Act as a Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders during events, addressing queries and facilitating networking opportunities.
- Marketing and Communication
- Create Marketing Plans: Develop and implement marketing plans to promote events, leveraging social media, email campaigns, and other channels.
- Enhance Digital Presence: Oversee updates to the Events section of the firm's website, ensuring content is current and engaging.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze Event Outcomes: Utilize data analytics to measure event success, gather insights, and provide recommendations for future improvements.
- Prepare Comprehensive Reports: Compile detailed post-event reports, including attendance metrics, budget analysis, and feedback summaries.
- Travel and On-Site Management
- Travel to Events in Southern California: Attend and oversee events across various locations, ensuring all aspects are executed flawlessly.
- On-Site Leadership: Provide leadership and direction during events, resolving issues promptly and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Professional Development and Industry Knowledge
- Stay Informed: Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and innovative event strategies to continuously improve event offerings.
- Participate in Professional Networks: Engage in relevant industry associations and networks to enhance professional growth and the firm's reputation.
- Develop and execute event checklist.
- Lead planning calls with attorneys and key team members.
- Ensure events stick to timeline and budget, and branding and promotion of event conforms with firm standards.
- Travel throughout Southern California for events and on-site event set-up and staffing. (Travel outside of Southern California may be required, as needed.)
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant marketing events experience
- Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational skills, willingness and ability to work independently handling multiple tasks with multiple deadlines, attention to detail and a team-player.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Computer/Software Knowledge
Preferred
- Previous work with CRM system (InterAction) and mass emailing system (Vuture) preferred.
- Experience with Monday.com, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Suite preferred.
- A fun, supportive, transparent, and fast-paced environment.
- You will be based in one of our local Sheppard Mullin offices but will be allowed to work from home.
- You are required to come into the office on an as-needed basis.
- Overtime may be required as the job duties demand.
- Up to 50% travel.
- Travel across Southern California for various events required.
- May be asked to travel outside of Southern California as needed.
