What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educational Assistant (Sheppard Pratt School- Millersville Elementary School) position at Sheppard Pratt?
Located within Millersville Elementary School in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Sheppard Pratt School offers a special education program serving students ages four to 11 in grades K-5 with autism spectrum disorder, emotional disabilities and other health impairments. Our unique location within Millersville Elementary School grants us access to shared facilities and resources, and our students are exposed to general education peers and classes.
This position is based out of the Millersville Elementary School, but may occasionally be needed at our other Sheppard Pratt Type II schools in Anne Arundel County.
What to expect.
You will join a collaborative learning environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of the students in our care. This role offers rich, entry level, experience in special education if your goals include careers like special education teacher, registered behavior technician (RBT), or board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA). Starting pay rate: $18.00/hour.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Supporting the teacher as a paraprofessional educator and/or working with assigned student as a 1:1 dedicated aide.
- Supporting Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives by documenting student progress and providing additional instruction and structure.
- Providing educational and adaptive behavior support
- Providing behavior intervention and treatment
- Opportunities for leading classroom activities.

The pay range for this position is $18.00/hr minimum to $22.28/hr maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
