What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investigations Manager (Public Safety/Full-Time/Towson) position at Sheppard Pratt?
Responsibilities:
- Conduct confidential investigations by applying working knowledge and experience as it relates to security incidents to include, but not limited to, major accidents and events; workplace violence; threats to the organization, its employees or clients; employee misconduct; fraud; criminal matters and other matters as assigned and prioritized by the Department of Public Safety leadership.
- Proactively identify vulnerabilities through data analysis; trending reports; and coordination among all organizational and investigative functions.
- Conduct detailed threat assessments and risk analyses to identify and mitigate potential security concerns.
- Conduct and initiate investigations through interviews; collection of evidence; analysis of documents; review of video; and collection of information from internal and external databases.
- Properly collect, maintain, and preserve physical and digital evidence and implement SP DPS policies and best practices.
- Prepare comprehensive and timely investigative reports detailing the results of the investigation to be shared with the DPS leadership; SP leadership; SP Legal; SP Risk Management; and local law enforcement. Reports should be factual, well-written and meet the standards set by State and Federal Courts.
- Testify in legal hearings as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Security Operations Center (SOC) for notifications of significant incidents/investigations and effective communication protocols across SP DPS platforms.
- Respond rapidly and effectively to emergency situations, including medical incidents, threats, or other crises.
- Prepare post-mission reports and maintain detailed records of operations and incidents.
- Make recommendations for corrective action to assist in the development of policies and procedures that can be applied consistently across all SP properties.
- Maintain working knowledge of investigative techniques and security responses in accordance with laws, codes, regulations; SP DPS standards, policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of investigative software and internal and external programs used for investigations.

Other Duties include:
- Provide security overwatch during special events and high profile settings to ensure a safe and secure environments.
- Plan and execute secure transportation logistics, including route planning and contingency measures.
- Monitor and evaluate the environment for potential threats during events, meetings, and public appearances.
- Coordinate with law enforcement, event staff, and security teams to ensure seamless security coverage.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5-7 years of experience specific to local or federal law enforcement required.
- Experience in conducting investigations required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on a need-to-know basis.
- Ability to multi-task and manage a case load.
