Job Description
At the Sheraton Agoura Hills the Catering Sales and Event Manager creates revenue opportunities by seeking new
Catered meetings, Catered Events and Receptions. This person is expected to support this effort with the combination of outbound sales efforts, the development of client loyalty, and client referrals. This person is an excellent listener who understands the client’s event needs and has the experience necessary to guide those unsure of their needs as you are the go-to for event planning. The Catering and Event schedule can include Saturdays in addition to a typical Monday through Friday schedule. This person will work closely with the Director of Sales to generate revenue in all markets such as corporate and social along with proactive planning for peak seasons.
Requirements:
As a Catering Sales and Event Manager, you will
~Identify potential customers, accounts and markets, develop new business and cultivate existing relationships using sales activities including Research, Prospecting, Telephone and Electronic Communications, Outside Sales Calls,
Entertainment, Site Inspections, Trade Shows, and Networking Events, all to achieve the assigned goals.
~Capture the client’s vision and effectively convey the specifications to appropriate departments, quickly responding to inquiries, concerns and issues, ensuring an exceptional client experience and seeding future bookings.
~Review, evaluate and execute event sales contracts with customers.
~Execute the detailing for all events booked.
~Contribute and work as a “team” member in all facets of the position.
~Develop and maintain a file and trace system to ensure all sales activity is defined, recorded, traced and updated in an organized manner.
~Ensure the understanding and implementation of Brand Sales initiatives, tools and resources.
~Keep management informed of activities through regular reporting.
~Be proficient in Microsoft Office, Marriott systems knowledge beneficial.
~Ensure Positive Guest Service Communications both written and verbal.
~Exhibit Strong organizational skills.
~Have a flexible schedule to meet the demand of sales and event opportunities.
~Exhibit the ability to achieve outbound sales calls.
~Understand all aspects of events from set up style to square footage of event space & menu creation and selection
~Thorough knowledge of catering, food and beverage, and the hospitality industry is expected.
~Present a clean, pleasant and professional image to project a positive, polished appearance to staff, potential guests and clients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $68,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
