What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Inspector position at Sheraton BWI?
We are looking for professional individuals to join our team at the Sheraton BWI Hotel who are able to work in a busy atmosphere. Our housekeeping room inspector/inspectress must be able to pay close attention to detail while servicing our guest rooms at check out and during our guest’s stay. You must be able to manage your time wisely to complete your daily duties and work as an individual or with fellow team members. All of our employees are required to be able to assist guests with any special needs or requests during their stay.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.
- Perform or assist with cleaning duties as necessary.
- Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of work required.
- Evaluate housekeeper performance and recommend personnel actions such as promotions transfers, and dismissals.
- Inventory stock used for guest room amenities
- Advise Front Desk of guest rooms ready for occupancy.
- Investigate complaints about service and room cleanliness, and take corrective action.
- Check equipment to ensure that it is in safe working order.
- Confer with staff in order to resolve performance and personnel actions such as promotions, and to discuss company policies.
- Monitor and record housekeeping performance.
Responsibilities:
- Responds to all guest and staff needs
- Ensures that all required reports are accurate and timely
- Enforces policies and procedures to minimize issues relating to safety, liability, internal and external theft, and property damage
- Establishes and maintains standards and procedures that ensure the health and safety of everyone
- Follows all safety policies and procedures
- Helps during evacuations and other critical incidents
- Monitor staff on your assigned floor to make sure they are neatly dressed in the Dress Code for the Housekeeping Department, including name badge.
Requirements of the Job / Working Conditions:
- Good verbal communication skills in English
- Must be capable of lifting 30 lbs.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in a medium sized facility
- Hotel experience is a plus!
- Must be able to engage with hotel guests
- Must provide a past employment contact for reference
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in customer service.
- Required to work flexible schedule on the needs of the business.
