Job Summary
This position is responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel’s building, grounds, and operational systems, including mechanical and electrical equipment. The shift for this role is 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and weekend availability is a must. A primary focus is responding to basic guest maintenance needs in a timely, professional manner to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable experience for all hotel guests. This role also includes completing daily maintenance tasks and work orders from all departments in accordance with the hotel’s standard operating procedures.

Essential Job Functions
This description outlines the primary responsibilities and qualifications of the role. It is not an exhaustive list. Due to 24/7 hotel operations, scheduling flexibility, including weekends and holidays, is required.
  • Responds promptly and courteously to guest maintenance issues and service requests.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs problems with mechanical or electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance tasks (e.g., “room care” programs).
  • Services and maintains the hotel pool, including monitoring chemical levels and cleaning filters.
  • Maintains the building’s exterior and overall curb appeal, including landscaping, painting, and small repairs.
  • Complies with all hotel policies and procedures, including safety and security standards.
  • Follows emergency and fire safety protocols.
  • Uses protective gear and ensures a safe working environment at all times.
  • Reports any unsafe conditions, accidents, or property damage immediately.
  • Assists other maintenance or engineering staff when needed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of maintenance trades such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC.
  • Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing hotel systems and equipment.
  • Ability to recognize and address safety and security concerns.
  • Familiarity with the use of hand and power tools; knowledge of repair materials and parts.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with patience, diplomacy, and efficiency.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • High school diploma preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of hotel layout including guest rooms and function areas is a plus.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.).
  • Capable of climbing stairs and ladders (up to 30 feet) and working on different surfaces.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and manual dexterity required.
  • Must maintain physical and visual awareness to detect safety or emergency issues.
