Summary
The Director of Rooms is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the Hotel’s rooms operations. The position implements strategies that deliver performance and guest service to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of ownership, the Sheraton Brand, guests and associates while maximizing the financial performance and return on investment. Areas of responsibility include front desk, guest services, housekeeping, recreation, valet, concierge, shuttle drivers and community management.
The annual salary for this position ranges from $150,000 - $165,000 based on experience. This role is also eligible for performance-based bonuses.
Education/Experience
- 2 years of leadership experience in a resort or hotel
- Previous hotel management experience is required
- Hospitality degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Hours
- Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs
- Scheduling may include holidays, nights, and weekends based on business needs
Job Requirements
- Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel
- Proven experience leading high performing teams
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Property Management Systems
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to apply them in a dynamic environment
- Self-confident, proactive, and able to prioritize and make effective decisions
- Ability to build strong relationships, interact and positively influence others at all levels of the organization
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to stand, bend, and walk throughout the shift
- Ability to push and/or pull up to 50lbs occasionally
Essential Job Duties
- Ensures rooms operations meet or exceed 4 Diamond and Sheraton Brand service standards
- Partners with hotel leadership to develop compelling programming that aligns with the hotel’s business strategy and leads its execution
- Develops criteria to improve service across the rooms operations and establishes a strong associate culture
- Provides monthly analytics, metrics, and reporting on the effectiveness of implemented strategies
- Analyzes departmental budget requests to identify areas in which performance improvements can be made and allocates operating budget
- Develops annual budget, monthly forecasting, labor modeling, capital submissions and cost controls for the overall Rooms operation
- Recruits, selects, and trains a best-in-class operations team
- Establishes development plans and expectations for operational leaders
- Ensures mentorship and strong accountability throughout the team and collaborates to ensure goal setting promotes continuous improvement
- Champions a “4 Keys to Creating Guests for Life” approach to service
- Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with hotel policy and applicable laws
- Follows all policies and procedures while consistently striving to improve all standards of operations
- Follow all additional duties assigned by management
