Summary of Job Description
The Purchasing Clerk oversees the incoming and outgoing shipments of goods for the hotel. Responsibilities include receiving, inspecting, and logging deliveries, as well as storing items in designated areas. Attendants also prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging and labeling items for transport. They collaborate with various departments to ensure timely delivery of supplies and resolve any discrepancies or issues with shipments. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential for success in this role.
This position pays $22.20/hour.
Education/Experience
- Minimum 6 months experience in purchasing, packaging, shipping, or receiving roles.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
Work Hours
- Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs.
- Scheduling includes holidays, nights, overnights, and weekends depending on hotel events and functions.
Job Requirements

- Ability to lift moderate to heavy weight (100lbs)
- Ability to operate forklift and electric-powered pallet jack.
- Previous experience in hotels, food and beverage, storeroom, and/or receiving is a plus.
- Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill job tasks.
- Use of PPE as needed for duty assigned and with the use of required tools and equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a well-organized, easily inventoried storeroom.
- Complete daily logs of deliveries.
- Receive, distribute, and facilitate the distribution of goods throughout the hotel in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure proper storage of deliveries in inventory rooms as designated.
- Maintain cleanliness of the loading dock, storeroom refrigerator, and freezer areas at all times
- Review departmental orders daily using the procurement system.
- Manage deliveries from shippers, receipt of goods, and storage of items to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Check-in products by comparing them to packing slips/invoices to process payments accurately and promptly.
- Make regular rounds around the property to deliver packages to various departments and pick up outgoing mail and shipping.
- Package and label all outgoing packages to ship promptly.
- Maintain computerized records of items or services purchased, costs, and delivery.
- Enforce strict internal controls and continuously monitor and track inventories.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Regularly use a pallet jack to move/relocate pallets inside the warehouse.
- Support and assist with purchasing as needed.
- Carry out supervisor requests in accordance with hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
- Follow 4 Keys service standards, standard operation procedures, and safety standards.
- Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operations.
- Follow safety and security procedures.
- Work cohesively with co-workers and all departments as part of a team.
- Adhere to attendance and reliability standards.
- Additional guest services duties as assigned by management.
- Follow all additional duties as assigned by management.
