Position Summary
Manage the day-to-day and long term operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments.
Essential Functions
1. Manage the daily operations of the Housekeeping, and where applicable, the Laundry departments. Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning of the departments. Manage the selection, training and development of employees with an eye toward maximum employee satisfaction, productivity and guest satisfaction.
2. Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards. Manage operating expenses to maximize costs while providing excellent guest services.
3. Coordinate department’s activities with other departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction. Bear ultimate responsibility for monitoring consumption and ordering replacement of guest and cleaning supplies.
4. Oversee divisional matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.

· Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
· Must possess basic computational ability.
· Must possess basic computer skills.
· Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision.
· Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations, including, but not limited to the following statutes and their state and local analogues (where applicable): Title VII, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, and NLRA.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum five years management experience with at least three years in housekeeping management at progressively higher levels of responsibility.
Education
High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
