WHAT YOU WILL DO:


The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining product quality standards across various end markets. You will be a technical contact for issues that are critical to product quality and customer satisfaction. The Quality Engineer will work with customers and suppliers on applications requiring technical and quality related support. You will play a key role in quality in new product development. You will work with Design and Applications Engineers to ensure designs meet quality standards. You will play a leading role in evaluating manufacturing processes to maintain product integrity throughout the entire process, ensuring throughput goals are met.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of industry quality requirements across all end markets served.
  • Develop and submit PPAP documents for new product lunches to meet customer requirements.
  • Be the technical point of contact in the event of a quality issue; travels to Customer and Supplier facilities to support and troubleshoot.
  • Report, monitor and analyze on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other quality performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to ensure quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support new product development and introduction processes to ensure quality requirements are met from concept to production.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformances and improve product quality.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, control plans, and quality reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to various audiences, including employees, suppliers and customers
  • Other duties as assigned


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline
  • 7 years of experience in quality-related operations.
  • 7 years of experience with MS office, including Excel, and PowerPoint
  • 7 years of experienced in Root Cause Analysis (5-Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree) and Corrective Action systems (8D) and follow through.
  • 5 years of experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • 15% travel including domestic and internationally to manufacturing sites, customers and employee locations


ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Working knowledge in Quality Management Systems (ISO/IATF/AS)
  • Able to work within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong data collection, analysis and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools – DMAIC problem-solving
  • Blueprint reading including GD&T with measurement equipment and inspection techniques
  • Customer and supplier quality assurance experience
