Position: Certified Nursing Assistant – Care Support
Reports To: Nurse(s) On Duty and Surgical Services Supervisor
Schedule: Variable shifts, 16-24hrs/week, Occasional Weekend coverage
Position Location/Department: Surgical Services
Job Summary: Sheridan Community Hospital is looking to fill an immediate need for a Certified Nursing Assistant. We are looking for an experienced professional who can work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and provide our patients with the care and support they need during their surgery stay. The Certified Nursing Assistant will work directly with the Surgery Staff. The position’s duties are highly variable, so the successful candidate must be willing to change direction at a moment’s notice and keep pace with other OR professionals on staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs duties such as endoscope processing, room turnover, and endoscope tech duties as assigned.
- Performs a variety of fundamental direct patient care and environmental procedures under the supervision of the RN in the Surgical Department based on department census/patient acuity.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties involved in preparing, maintaining, and processing patient, unit(s) and hospital data and records to include operating the organization’s patient care information systems.
- Assist with Central Sterilization duties.
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Other Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
- One year of clinical experience preferred.
- Must have BLS or willing to obtain within 30 days.
