Sheridan County School District No. 2 is looking for a talented, professional, and dedicated accompanist to join the Sheridan High School team.
BENEFITS: Wyoming State Retirement Pension Program, Aflac, Life Insurance, Paid Personal (2 days annually), and Sick Leave (10 days annually).
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 5.75 hours per day, 176 days per school year. Days off coincide with the school calendar, including Christmas, Spring , and Summer breaks.
STARTING WAGE: $17.50-$20.50 depending on experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTS TO: Principal and/or Teacher
JOB GOAL: To assist the classroom teacher in achieving the objectives of the vocal music program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Play vocal parts and accompaniment for two and three part music during rehearsals.
2. Sight read new music used on trial for approval or as a learning activity in class.
3. Play piano accompaniments for choral music for at least three periods of the day.
4. Attend and accompany choirs at concerts (approximately three evening concerts and various in-school concerts) and on field trips during school time.
5. Be in charge of small groups of students during sectional rehearsals. Accompany and direct their learning and discipline as needed.
6. Prepare copies of various class assignments.
7. Prepare written programs for formal concerts.
8. Be proficient playing the twelve major scales for warm up purposes.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment relationship with the District is at will and of indefinite duration. Salary and fringe benefits to be set by the Board of Trustees.
