Maintenance Operator - Seasonal, Full-Time

Work Dates: Beginning May 28, 2025 (Mostly days with evening and weekend hours during large
events)
Hiring Range: $18.44 an hour
Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and operations of the
Sheridan County Fairgrounds.
Minimum Job Requirements: Experience working with the public, event experience, equipment
operations, facility maintenance, working in various weather conditions.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Prepares fairground facilities for events (maintains public buildings and grounds, sets panels

for animal stalls/pens, stage events)

• Assists in enforcing rules and regulations of the fairground facilities
• Maintains facilities and equipment; performs repairs; makes recommendations for

professional services, when necessary

• Maintains Grounds (Mowing, weed trimming, Painting, Sweeping, Cleaning, etc.)
• Equipment Operation (Mower, Tractor, Skid steer)
• Handles immediate repairs and clean-ups
• Performs routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

**There may be exposure to extreme heat and/or extreme cold under demanding physical conditions.
**Applicant must have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
