Purpose Statement :
The Administrative Assistant that reports directly to the Athletic Director will support the Athletic Department operations of Sheridan Hills Christian School, in accordance with school policies and procedures. They will act as liaison with athletes, coaches and school families for all inquiries and requests directing them to the appropriate area.
This position is also responsible for coaching girls volleyball. The specific focus of this role is to provide quality coaching with a biblical perspective.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in athletics, and have strong communication skills. The candidate MUST be able to coach volleyball at the varsity level. Please list all your volleyball coaching experience.

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities :
Professional / Technical Qualifications :The Administrative Assistant must possess a minimum of an associate's degree and / or a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar position.
Strong oral and written communication skills in EnglishCreative and / or graphic arts experience preferred.Proficiency with Excel, Word, and MS Windows required : PowerPoint, Canva (or similar) strongly preferred.Responsibilities :Perform all day-to-day operations of the school's athletic department, including answering phones, maintaining entry security protocols, and providing assistance to teachers and administrators.
Adheres to all FHSAA and SHCS rules and regulationsEnsure that established policies and procedures are followed for all athletic duties.Takes the initiative to remain informed of the school calendar, events and activities to respond to inquiries accurately.Attend and participate in school events as requestedCommunicate with the Maintenance department for urgent cleaning, repairs or maintenance.Follow established protocols and assist during safety evacuation and fire drills.Maintain positive relationships among students, teachers, parents, and the SHBC community.May need to work after school hours as neededMaintain a professional appearance at all times.Coaching Responsibilities :
STUDENT-ATHLETESProvide devotion and / or prayer during each practice, with intentionality to lead athletes to grow in mind, spirit, and body. Remember our mission is to develop Christian growth and leadership.
Provide recommendations for off-season training and camps.Manage the balance of developing fitness and skill with beginners.Advise athletes in their pursuit of athletic goals.Teach the basic skills and the more complicated skills of the sport.PRACTICESDevelop and supervise regular practices in-season, unless games prevent it.
Work with A.D. to develop a practice schedule before the season begins.Notify A.D. of any changes to the practice schedule at least 48 hours in advance. In case of cancellation due to emergency, the school office must be notified along with the A.D.In cases of inclement weather, confer with A.D. about time change or cancellation.Check practice facility / field before and after each practice for cleanliness and order.Remain at facility / field at end of practices until all players have left.GAMESDress professionally
Be present on campus for game-day early dismissals of student-athletes. Ensure athletes are dismissed in a timely and quiet manner.Coordinate team pre-game activities / conduct and supervise pre-game warm-ups.Coach during the game with intensity, encouragement, and professionalism. Your character will be remembered long after the score.COMMUNICATIONProvide contact information (phone and email) to parents.
Communicate game times, locations, and expectations to student-athletes andparents in a regular and timely manner.
Establish expectations with team captain(s) and players at the beginning of the season.Have a Pre-season parent meetingAttend the annual Athletic Banquet and professionally present team awardsADMINISTRATIONProvide equipment / uniform requests to A.D. before the season.
Submit budget requests to A.D. for the following season.Meet with A.D. regularly throughout the season and at the end of the season to evaluate performance and program needs.REMUNERATIONThe coaching position receives a stipend at the end of the season.
