Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school buildings and equipment.
2. Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
3. Work closely with other maintenance staff members to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
4. Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid Arkansas driver's license (must be able to drive a service truck or van).
3. Ability to pass an Arkansas State Police background check, FBI background check, and Department of Human Services background check.
4. Good knowledge of tools, techniques, and terminology associated with general maintenance trades.
5. Familiarity with safety precautions of mechanical trades.
6. Ability to perform basic helper skills related to job duties.
7. Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.
8. Ability to get along well with others to promote a positive working environment.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee would encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
This job requires frequent walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee must also be able to climb a ladder and work from it or a lift when necessary. Occasional work in confined areas of heights is also required.
