Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sheridan School District, AR as a skilled maintenance worker. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our schools and buildings.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Perform a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and traffic control.
2. Assist skilled maintenance workers with their work assignments.
3. Maintain, service, and conduct minor repairs on buildings and equipment.
4. Work with other semiskilled maintenance workers on assigned tasks.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid Arkansas driver's license (must be able to drive a service truck or van).
3. Ability to pass an Arkansas State Police background check, FBI background check, and Department of Human Services background check.
4. Good knowledge of tools, techniques, and terminology associated with general maintenance trades.
5. Familiarity with safety precautions of mechanical trades.
6. Ability to perform basic helper skills related to job duties.
7. Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.
8. Ability to get along well with others to promote a positive working environment.

While performing the duties of this job, an employee must:
1. Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
2. Talk or be able to listen and communicate verbally.

4. Be able to climb a ladder and possibly work from it or a lift.
5. Occasionally stand or sit, regularly lift and/or move and carry up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
6. Occasionally work in confined areas of heights.
7. Have vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
