Operate and maintain assigned collator to meet production standards, quality, and delivery requirements as directed by the Binder Operator and General Plant Supervisor
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret job jackets to thoroughly understand the needs of the customer, communicating those instructions to the bindery trainee
- Set up and operate collator including the fine tuning of pockets to ensure minimal stops during operation for a smooth and trouble-free production run
- Give direction to the bindery trainee for the staging process, folding status, F&G approval status, and locating job jackets
- Follow all required safety procedures such as: PPE’s, Ergonomics, and etc.
- Perform job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
- Assist with housekeeping in the bindery area
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience working in manufacturing
- Must be a bindery trainee for six months
- Must be mechanically inclined, flexible, organized, with attention to detail
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong knowledge of computer – controlled machinery in a production environment
- Self – motivated with strong problem-solving skills
- Prior Bindery experience is preferred
- Knowledge of a variety of small hand tools and precision measuring devices is preferred
- Prolonged periods of standing on production floor
- Must be able to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
