To ensure that the facility and equipment are maintained and/or repaired in an orderly and quality fashion to keep the plant operating productively. To perform all electrical and mechanical duties as assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
- Maintain, alter, rebuild and adjust equipment and facilities to include fabricating parts and assemblies.
- Follow up on and study recurring facility-oriented failures in an effort to find solutions.
- Complete all preventative, scheduled and emergency maintenance and repair work to facilities and equipment as required.
- Perform safety measures in the design and installation of equipment.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and materials necessary for the operation of the building and manufacturing.
- Understand and maintain company safety protocols and policies.
- Identify workplace hazards, which exist or could develop and correct problems.
- Perform work to ensure procedures are within safety and governmental compliance.
- Inform co-workers and employees of precautions and equipment.
- Accurately record all repairs and maintenance performed in a repairs and maintenance log.
- Ground and building maintenance as needed.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 2-3 years mechanical technician experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Understand Lock-Out-Tag-Out.
- Electrical knowledge, including but not limited to single phase 120v, three phase 480v and 24 VDC power systems.
- Electrically inclined, understanding single & 3 phase.
- Safely handle power tools.
- Good communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Welding experience
- Ability to lift 60lbs. on a regular basis.
- Willing to work all shifts.
- Occasionally be able to do the listed activities:
- Moving to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Operating machine and/or power tools.
- Work in noisy environments.
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps.
- Moving self in different position to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight spaces.
- Remain in stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Work in high and low temperatures.
