Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Responsible for layout, setup and alignment of painting process
- Perform surface preparation prior to painting, mark areas to be filled, mixes hardener and filler
- Applies hardener and filler to unfinished areas needing smoothing and contouring
- Spray primer, paint filler and protective paint on prepared surfaces
- Uses painting equipment including brushes and spray guns to perform minor rework, touchup, priming, finishing painting of partial product when not otherwise engaged in paint preparation duties
- Roughs and finishes parts using various types of sandpaper and hand sanding machines to provide surface for paint adhesion and smooth appearance
- Inspects parts to verify paint has been applied to meet surface maintaining finish requirements
- Selects premixed paints or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
- Must wear forced air respirator system.
- Occasionally required to operate air powered hand tools and common mechanics hand tools to perform some assembly operation essential functions.
- Performs a variety of production duties with minimal supervision.
- Responsible to see that all company supplied tools used are placed into proper storage cabinets daily.
- Assist quality in testing and other efforts as required
- Conduct rope winding as necessary
- Assist and maintains acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping
- Performs all other assigned duties as instructed by supervision.

Additional Qualifications:
Must have specific knowledge of paints (urethane and wash primers), thinners, spray guns, vic systems. Knowledge of proper cleaning and rebuilding of guns, proper air pressures for product uses, understanding of work orders.
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree
6 months’ experience in manufacturing environment
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving root cause and corrective action analysis.
