Job Description:
Sherpa 6 has an exciting opportunity for Mid-level Tactical Support Engineers in support of USSOCOM Program Executive Office SOF Digital Applications (SDA) Global Systems Support Engineers (GSSE) contract. The Support Engineer will provide technical and analytical mission planning, execution, and post-mission system onsite support to SOCOM units. This includes providing Tactical Software, Mapping, Imagery and Geospatial Information Systems Support, Tactical Network Administration Support, Training Support and Enhancement and Upgrade Support to the customers. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide system support services in five (5) major areas: Tactical Software Support, Mapping, Imagery and Geospatial Information System Support, Tactical Network Administration Support, Training Support and Enhancement and Upgrade Support.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 3 years of SOCOM experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, OR the equivalent technical training with experience that aligns directly to the duties to be performed in lieu of degree for specific user units.
- Minimum of 2 years, within the last 8 years, operational experience with/or supporting the assigned Component.
- Minimum of 5 years operational experience with or supporting an organization’s: navigation and mission planning techniques including preparation and check out of flight plans for aircraft weapons systems OR mission planning computer systems, communications, mission equipment, and planning techniques including preparation of unit mission plans for conduct of peacetime and wartime special operations missions.
- Ability to communicate issues and solutions to various stakeholders.
- Experience with the assigned Component’s tactical Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and mission guides.
- Knowledgeable of assigned Components operations and tactics.
- Excellent writing communication and reporting skills.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Experience:
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- 5 years of SOCOM experience.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level 2, or higher certification.
Background Screening/Check/Investigation:
Successful completion of a background screening/check/investigation will/may be required as a condition of hire.

The proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience and skill levels. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
