Jr. Quality Assurance Engineer - Internship

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Junior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with our QA and development teams to execute test plans, identify bugs, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software quality assurance and contribute to delivering high-quality products.

This position will report to the Somerset, NJ office location

Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to

• Assist in the creation and execution of test plans and test cases for software applications.
• Collaborate with QA and development teams to understand software requirements and identify testing needs.
• Conduct manual and automated testing to identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
• Participate in the review of requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
• Support the maintenance and improvement of test environments and testing tools.
• Assist in the preparation of test reports and documentation of testing activities and results.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project status, testing progress, and quality issues.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of QA processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in good academic standing working towards a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field.    

•  In-depth knowledge of Frontend web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

• Familiarity with a few of the following web development technologies:

  • C#, Angular, Typescript, SQL, JSON, APIs (REST and/or GraphQL), Git, CI/CD

Required Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose problems
• Ability to take direction and follow instructions, and to work both individually and in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, time-management skills, and attention to details
• Ability to define, execute, and follow up on deadlines and goals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills

• Basic understanding of software development and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, XUnit, MSTest) is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic knowledge of programming languages.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges and technologies.

Unique Requirements

• The intern selected will be required to work 29 hours a week over a specified 12-week duration.  

Additional Information

• The hourly pay range for this position is $18.00/Hr.
