Craft Recruiter at Shiel Sexton
The Craft Recruiter closely interacts with the entire HR team and hiring managers. This role is responsible for growing the talent pipeline for our Concrete and Self Performance Divisions using effective recruiting and HR practices/processes to ensure Shiel Sexton has strong craft professionals to succeed in the future. Additional responsibilities include:
Primary Responsibilities
- Developing candidate leads and building a robust talent pipeline to support the growth of the company
- Screening of resumes for appropriate skills, credentials, experience, and knowledge and conduct in-person and phone screen interviews to determine technical and cultural fit. Present the best talent to our hiring managers for consideration in a high volume, fast-paced environment
- Serving as the primary point-of-contact for candidates throughout the recruiting process
- Maintains applicant tracking information and updates database on a regular basis
- Schedule and assure a smooth onboarding process for all incoming employees by sending project specific welcome packets to include directions, company and site rules, and any onboarding instructions
- Network to recruit active and passive candidates for current positions and build talent pipelines for future career opportunities; Develop relationships with colleges, trade schools, and various local community organizations
- Organize and attend career fairs to work to recruit a high-performance talent pipeline
- Monitors and stays current with industry trends and best practices in all aspects of craft recruiting and makes recommendations for new or improved practices
- Perform other related duties as requested

- Self-starter, results driven, highly motivated, high energy, with a proven track record of success
- Ability to develop strong business partner relationships with hiring managers
- Physical presence in the office during work hours for impromptu meetings and access to information/data is necessary for the position
- Ability to prioritize recruiting needs, change direction as needed and accept constructive feedback on a regular basis
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Education Required
- High school diploma or undergraduate degree and 2 or more years of recruitment or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working in Construction is preferred
- Bilingual is a plus
Technical Skills Required
- Excellent communications skills – verbal and written.
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Travel Required
- Up to 25% locally
Required License or Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
