REPORTS TO: Vice President/General Manager
SUMMARY:
The Education Sales Consultant will be responsible for driving product and project-based sales generation, promoting and selling our direct company brands to educational institutions and commercial facilities and ensuring all sales activities are tracked and reported with accurate metrics. The ideal candidate will have experience in the education sector, a strong understanding of project sales, and the ability to drive revenue while maintaining excellent client relationships. The Education Sales Consultant role is an outside sales position that is responsible for product and project sales via outbound phone and in-person meetings with decision-makers. This position is a remote position based out of our headquarters facility in Chardon, Ohio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proactive Project Sales Generation
- Research and identify large-scale opportunities in target markets (e.g., schools, institutions, and commercial facilities).
- Build a pipeline of potential customers by networking, attending trade shows, and leveraging industry contacts.
- Develop and maintain a list of key decision-makers in organizations likely to undertake large projects.
- Conduct in-person meetings, site visits, and presentations to assess customer needs and introduce Shiffler Equipment Sales’ solutions.
- Provide consultative sales solutions, helping clients understand how products align with their project goals.
- Establish trust and credibility with stakeholders, such as purchasing agents, facility managers, project leaders and generate repeat business and referrals.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements while ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives.
- Address client concerns, provide product training and ensure smooth post-sale support implementation to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Act as a liaison between clients and the internal team, ensuring project progress aligns with customer expectations.
- Work with internal teams to create detailed, customized proposals.
- Active follow up of all quotes and opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and improve sales strategies.
Selling Direct United For Growth Manufacturing Brands
· Promote and sell the company’s direct education and hospitality brands, ensuring alignment with client goals and objectives.
· Effectively communicate the value proposition of products and services to our customers.
· Serve as a product expert for company offerings, answering queries and guiding clients through the purchasing process of the UFG Manufacturing Brands (Pedagogy, LLC & NorvaNivel USA, LLC).
· Negotiate and close sales contracts, ensuring that all terms meet company standards and client needs.
· Meet or exceed revenue, GP$, GP% goals for these brands
· Work closely with the sales and operations teams at these brands and provide customer and market feedback.
Reporting and Metrics
- Maintain and update accurate sales records, including leads, opportunities, pipeline status and sales activities in the company’s CRM system.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, tracking key metrics such as conversion rates, revenue generation, project timelines and forecasts to management.
- Work closely with the management team to refine sales strategies based on data-driven insights and market feedback.
Required Skills
· Proactive sales generation and an ability to quickly learn our product lines.
· Strong listening and negotiation skills as well as organizational and time management skills.
· Proficient in using CRM systems and sales tools to manage pipelines and track progress.
· Ability to multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
· Comfortable working within cross-functional teams to achieve company goals.
· Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 2-5 years in outside sales, preferably in education, edtech, or B2B sales.
· Understanding of the distribution and manufacturing education sector, including K-12, higher education, or corporate training markets.
· Strong knowledge of educational products, services and solutions.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, education, or a related field preferred.
