What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Business Analyst position at Shift Digital?
Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role will play a critical part in entering, developing, and automating our compensation related data, with a strong emphasis on aligning these strategies with our financial goals. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of both excel, data analysis and data base structure, enabling them to provide insights that drive organizational effectiveness.
Primary Responsibilities (May include but not limited to)
- Maintain and analyze compensation data, preparing reports that support decision-making for salary adjustments, bonuses, and other compensation-related initiatives.
- Work closely with the finance team to assess the impact of compensation strategies on the organization’s financial health, including budget forecasting and variance analysis.
- Perform and present monthly headcount reporting including changes by month by department, trainer and analytics reporting, burden rate, & burn rate metrics to senior leadership.
- Assist with the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes by providing employee reports and analysis of trends for Salary, Payroll Tax and Benefits, including attrition & hiring ramps.
- Develop and utilize the ADP Compensation Module for the annual merit and bonus processes.
- Assist with the annual 401k and Workers Compensation audits.
- Research ad-hoc questions from employees, payroll analyst, and others on the Finance team.
- Recommend and implement process changes and automation to make the compensation process efficient.

- Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, HRIS) as well as financial modeling

Direct Report/Supervision
Reports to the Operations Director and works closely with Finance.
Required Education/Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
2 years of experience in payroll, compensation analysis or a related field, preferably with exposure to financial analysis
Mastery of Excel and advanced functions is required
Proficiency using ADP, Ceridian, and Paycor preferred
Power BI, NetSuite ERP, PBCS Planning & Budgeting, and Monday.com experience is a plus
