JOB SUMMARY
The Wireless Network Core Engineer is responsible for integration testing, troubleshoot and certification of 5G Core network systems. This candidate plays a key role in certification of all 5G Core network systems and report issues to development teams and vendors. The candidate must have full understanding of 3GPP standards, 5G call flows and good hands on experience in troubleshooting core subsystem elements like NR-RAN, AMF, PCF, SMF, CHF, AUSF, UDM, UDR, NRF UPF, CBRS, Mediation platforms etc.. The candidate must also have knowledge in Network Routers, Switches, Gateways, Firewalls, Docker containers and Kubernetes. Candidate also collaborates with Vendors, internal Network Architects and Product Development teams as required. The candidate primarily works in lab environment during testing, recreating issues and troubleshooting lab and field reported tickets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
- Supporting 5G gNB, Smallcell functional and troubleshooting.
- Must have excellent problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills of 5G Core Network Architecture and interfaces and troubleshooting skills in 5G Core Interfaces (N1, N2, N3, N4, N6, N8, N10, N12...) 5G RAN components as RRU, DU / CU for vRAN configuration
- Thorough understanding & Hands-on experience in Core Network Elements AMF, UPF, AUSF / , UDM, NSF.
- Knowledge in CBRS and FFC requirements (3.5GHz).
- Through knowledge in virtualization platforms, Docker containers and Kubernetes.
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
- Provides support for escalated support across organizations
- Works with third party vendors for resolution or gets support as needed.
Coaches less experienced staff

Skills / Abilities and Knowledge
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
Professional level certification or equivalent work experience
Related Work Experience
7 years of professional experience in an MSO / ISP Networking operations support or Engineering
