Overview
The Director of Operations will serve as the strategic leader responsible for driving results, cultivating a strong organizational culture, and ensuring the overall performance and growth of all restaurants within the network. This role emphasizes coaching multi-unit managers, focusing on their professional development, the development of their direct reports, and the strengthening of internal store structures. The Director will maintain or establish systems for accountability and drive year-over-year improvements in key performance areas. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Culture
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence across all levels of the organization.
- Create and maintain an environment where communication and teamwork thrive by organizing regular meetings with Multi-Unit Managers (MUMs) and scheduling broader meetings that include both MUMs and Store Managers (SMs).
- Serve as a coach and mentor to MUMs who in turn coach and mentor their SMs with a keen focus on professional development, leadership, growth, results, and a welcoming environment.
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement systems to measure and enhance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including guest satisfaction, sales growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Establish and communicate clear goals and expectations to MUMs and SMs to ensure alignment with brand standards and organizational objectives.
- Build systems to track and evaluate year-over-year performance across all stores.
- Partner with local organizations and businesses to drive engagement through fundraisers, events, and catering opportunities.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee staffing plans to ensure all restaurants are adequately staffed while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Develop and execute operational strategies to meet and exceed brand standards, focusing on speed, quality, and cleanliness.
- Implement and monitor food safety and handling practices across all locations.
- Review and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, financial standards, and brand expectations.
Accountability & Performance Evaluation
- Conduct regular performance reviews with MUMs and SMs to build a culture of growth predicated on open communication and celebration of success.
- Review and assess training programs for all crew members emphasizing effective onboarding and ongoing skill development for all employees.
- Monitor operational metrics, including labor costs, cost of goods sold (COGs), and financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct spot checks to ensure operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and adherence to company values.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in multi-unit management, preferably in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching, team building, and driving results.
- Expertise in creating and implementing systems for accountability and measuring performance.
- Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and build trust.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with a proven ability to assess and improve operational processes.
