What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afternoon Float position at Shiloh Church of Concord Childrens Center?
We are looking for a professional, experienced, energetic, and hardworking float to relieve teachers in the afternoons.
This position is a fixed 1:00 - 5:30 / five day per week schedule
- Assist in classrooms when needed
- Take initiative. If a classroom seems chaotic or a teacher seems like they need some help, step in and help.
- Check on teachers for bathroom breaks frequently
- Help teachers in getting their children in and out of strollers
- Help teachers in getting their children to and from the playgrounds
- Practice holding hands, single file lines, or whichever method the lead teacher prefers
- Help with potty breaks for the twos, threes and four year olds.
- Help with diaper changing in the ones, twos and infants. Keep other children occupied, or take turns changing diapers with the teacher.
- Help teachers assist children with crafts and coloring
- Assist with taking food to classrooms
- Assist with bringing dishes back to the kitchen
- Help teachers put children to sleep
- Substitute for teachers to allow lunch breaks
- Start the washer and dryer/move laundry over as needed
- Follow afternoon float’s daily cleaning schedule
Cleaning includes vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and taking out trash.
Employment Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age
Must be willing to work Monday - Friday.
Must be willing to submit a complete NCHHS background check , provide a negative TB test and physical (within the past year) upon hiring.
Must be willing to obtain SIDS, CPR/First Aid training and/or any other training opportunities available or required.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, stoop, bend, squat about 95% of the time.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 22.5 per week
