Position Description:

The Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements across the organization, along with fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with plant and cross-functional teams to analyze current processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions to increase efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in lean manufacturing, creative problem-solving, and the ability to drive collaboration in diverse team settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads and collaborates on improvement projects, working closely with plant continuous improvement managers to identify, prioritize, and execute improvement initiatives at the site, or across the organization, while ensuring alignment with operational goals.
  • Analyzes operational performance by monitoring and reviewing key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for operational improvements. Uses data-driven insights to influence decision-making and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Applies lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques; encourages innovation solutions to drive cost savings, quality improvements, and operational efficiencies.
  • Assesses the potential impact of various improvement initiatives and helps prioritize high-value projects.
  • Guides teams on project planning, execution and tracking of results.
  • Leads change management efforts to engage stakeholders, promotes the continuous improvement culture and supports and recognizes successful project implementations at plant level.
  • Trains and mentors plant teams on lean tools, problem-solving techniques, and best practices.
  • Works with plant management teams to standardize processes, develop or revise documentation to ensure consistent results.
  • Reports status of continuous improvement initiatives to senior leadership; uses project management and business intelligence (BI) tools to track, analyze and report initiatives across sites.
  • Facilitates and spearheads internal Continuous Improvement, Six-Sigma activities, and Kaizen events.
  • Supports the adoption and maintenance of the Shiloh Production System.
  • Identifies and communicates best practices with and between other Shiloh facilities
  • Regular travel to our plant locations is expected to ensure on-site support and collaboration

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Prefer Engineering or Operations Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in continuous improvement, preferably in Tier One automotive supplier

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools (ex: Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence change in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Track record of successfully driving improvement projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with all levels in the organization
  • Financial and business acumen
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality
  • Strong skills in data analysis and project management tools preferred (ex: Excel, Power BI, Shibumi, etc.)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Black Belt)

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing Principles or Six Sigma certifications, preferred
