Job Summary
This is a role for people with legal experience in Immigration, Matrimonial, Personal Injury and/or Real Estate work. We are hiring multiple people so if you have experience in one or more of these fields, you may be a good fit. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys with various legal tasks, ensuring efficient operations within the firm. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in document management systems, and a solid understanding of legal processes, particularly in areas such as Immigration, Matrimonial, Personal Injury and/or Real Estate work.
Duties
- Assist attorneys with legal research and case preparation.
- Draft, review, and manage legal documents including contracts and pleadings.
- Transcribe legal documents and correspondence accurately.
- Organize and maintain files using document management systems.
- Manage project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases.
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings for attorneys.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role within a law firm.
- Familiarity with document management systems such as MyCase or Clio.
- Strong skills in legal drafting and contract management.
- Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Immigration, Matrimonial, Personal Injury and/or Real Estate work is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in project management to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- Ability to transcribe documents efficiently and accurately.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
