POSITION SUMMARY:

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking an IT Manager (Infrastructure & Support) to join our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of Shimadzu’s network, systems administration and help desk functions. In this role, you will ensure the availability, performance and security of Shimadzu’s IT infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, server environments, and end-user support systems. You’ll lead a dynamic team, collaborate across departments and help optimize our technology infrastructure to meet business needs.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Lead and oversee the operations of systems administration, network infrastructure and IT support (help desk).
• Supervise, mentor and develop IT team members, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery.
• Collaborate with internal customers, senior management and IT staff to implement technology solutions that balance cost considerations and business needs.
• Manage, troubleshoot and resolve complex network and system issues, ensuring smooth LAN/WAN operations.
• Plan and execute system maintenance, upgrades and infrastructure projects related to network security, server administration, and user technology.
• Recommend and implement new technology solutions to improve operational efficiency, including budgeting and ROI assessments.
• Ensure the security and integrity of data and systems, maintaining compliance with backup protocols and company policies.
• Develop and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Support and administer network protocols, including TCP/IP and other communication standards.
• Ensure compliance with Shimadzu's Global Information Security Policy, collaborating with Cyber Security teams.
• Procure necessary software licenses, manage vendor relationships, and track technology expenditures.
• Coordinate with IT management on budgetary planning for technology needs.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (required).
• 7 years of experience in network and systems management, with demonstrable expertise in troubleshooting, maintenance and planning.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (LAN/WAN), server administration, backup/disaster recovery, and security systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Azure, VMware, Citrix, and other IT tools.
• Experience managing IT teams and fostering a customer-oriented, service-focused culture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This exempt, full-time position offers a starting salary range of $130,000 to $135,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. Eligible benefits include a 401K matching program and discretionary yearly contributions, with detailed information provided at the final interview stage. Additional variable compensation may include a discretionary year-end bonus based on overall company performance.

In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 scheduled holidays, and 3 floating holidays. After one year, you’ll have access to a generous short-term disability program, with premiums fully covered by the company. Employees are insured at 100% of their salary for the first 6 weeks and 66 2/3% for weeks 7 to 12.
