As part of the Shimadzu Partnership for Academics, Research, and Quality of Life (SPARQ) with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Department of Chemistry and the Virginia Tech Department of Chemistry Foundation, Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is offering a Paid Summer Internship for a qualified Virginia Tech University student.
At Shimadzu (SSI), we have been dedicated to contributing to society through science and technology since our foundation in 1875. SSI has enabled the work of scientists and technologists in food, pharmaceutical, chemical, clinical, and other high technology industries by providing high quality instrumentation along with strong technical support.
This internship has been created in conjunction with Virginia Tech educators to provide a unique opportunity for a qualified student to explore the role of Technical Support Scientist at SSI.
Qualifications:
Not Graduating May 2025
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better with Chemistry Major or Minor
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Key Information:
10-weeks, starting June 3rd
27.5 hours per week/ $22 per hour
Location: Columbia, MD and Durham, NC as primary locations
Personal transportation will be a necessity as travel is required
(reimbursement provided for travel)
Deliverables:
Intern will work alongside of Shimadzu Product Management and SOE Regional Technical Support team to put together a high-quality application note to be used for sales and marketing purposes.
Intern will prepare a written summary of experience as well as provide a presentation to the VT department.
Salary : $22
