What are the responsibilities and job description for the Latent Print Examiner position at SHINE Systems?
As a Latent Print Examiner, you will be responsible for processing and analyzing evidence to develop, identify, and document latent prints. Your role involves utilizing standard laboratory procedures such as cyanoacrylate fuming, fluorescent dye stains, powders in suspension, ninhydrin, and indanedione to develop latent prints. You will identify, label, and photograph these prints using proper photographic equipment and techniques, and then analyze them in Adobe Photoshop to determine their suitability for submission to the Defense Forensic Biometric Agency (DFBA), in accordance with laboratory policies. In addition to comparing latent prints to known prints and making informed conclusions, you will document all examination results and findings in the Weapons Technical Intelligence Exploitation Analysis Tool (WEAT) database. Your responsibilities also include annotating case file documentation, interpreting results for forensic and/or intelligence exploitation, and performing administrative and technical reviews of reports for fellow examiners. Furthermore, you will maintain the chain of custody, mix chemicals as required, perform quality checks on instruments and reagents, and ensure a clean and organized laboratory and personal workspace in line with established procedures. This role also includes rotational deployments overseas, requiring adaptability and a commitment to maintaining high standards in diverse environments.
Requirements & Desired:
Required
· Three years of experience performing Latent Print examinations and analysis on all types of materials to include porous, non-porous, and semi-porous materials.
· Experience using chemical, physical, and digital latent print examination techniques to produce a suitable print for comparison.
· Experience with utilizing and submitting to ABIS, AFIS, and/or other national databases.
· Have 20/20 vision or correctable to 20/20 vision with no detected color vision deficiencies.
· Must be able to successfully pass all medical requirements for deployment.
· Must be able to successfully pass a skills/competency assessment.
· Able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government clearance. Note US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.
· Able to obtain a US Passport.
