POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Compliance Manager, The Compliance Technician's role involves reviewing, monitoring, and reporting on compliance activities, supporting the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures, assisting Compliance Officers during audits and compliance workplan projects, and general clerical duties.
The Compliance Technician will be professional, analytical, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Tribal, state, and federal regulations applicable to the Tribe.
- Assist Compliance Officers in preparing, coordinating, conducting and completing audits.
- Assist Compliance Officers in preparing, coordinating, conducting and completing compliance workplan projects.
- Maintain and organize Compliance-related documentation.
- Assist in maintaining effective remedial action plans.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Compliance policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development, coordination, and delivery of compliance training.
- Assist in distribution of compliance information / issues to appropriate parties including management and senior staff.
- Perform general clerical duties including but not limited to, travel arrangements, purchase requests, mail management, and emails correspondence.
- Coordinate compliance meetings and training dates.
- Other duties as assigned.

NATIVE PREFERENCE
Preference in hiring is given to either the most qualified applicant or a Native American candidate who meets the minimum qualifications. When two (2) or more Native American candidates have comparable qualifications, the following order of preference shall apply : (1) Members of Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (2) Spouses or domestic partners (certified through Tribal Court) of members of Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (3) Parents of children of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (4) All other documented Native Americans; (5) All other applicants in accordance with Title 25, U.S. Code, Section 472 and 473. Applicants claiming Native preference must submit verification of Indian eligibility.
